Motorcycle Crashes Are Increasing in Florida

Many Floridians love riding a motorcycle on a warm sunny day. However, the presence of many motorcyclists on the highways and two-lane roads of Florida produces a high number of crashes causing serious injuries and deaths.

In Florida, 491 people died in motorcycle accidents in 2012, more than any other state.

Motorcycle fatalities accounted for one out of every five traffic deaths in Florida in 2012. Many motorcycle riders are very safety conscious, but still suffer serious or fatal injuries in crashes caused by other motorists.

Tips if You Are Injured on a Carnival Cruise Ship

Before You Depart for your Next Carnival Cruise, Review These Tips from a Cruise Ship Lawyer

Medical Attention Abroad

If you are injured on board a cruise ship, a local hospital can provide more complete care than the ship’s infirmary.

What To Do If You've Been in a Car Accident in Florida

First 10 Minutes, First 10 Hours After a Road Accident

Before contacting an attorney, think about what type of attorney will be the best one to handle your case.  Just because an attorney has a fancy website, a big Yellow Pages ad, or his or her face on the side of a bus advertisement, doesn't mean that he or she is a good lawyer for your Florida accident case.  It doesn't mean anything other than they spent some money on advertising.

Steven Meyer is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer.

How Florida Motorcycle Injury Lawyers Increase Your Chances of Financial Recovery

Trying to fight a large insurance company while dealing with physical injuries from a motorcycle accident can be overwhelming. Fortunately, a Florida motorcycle accident lawyer or Boca Raton injury attorney can save you from a lot of frustration and stress, and help you understand and benefit from available legal options.

A motorcycle rider does not have the same protection as a person riding in a car; therefore motorcycle injuries are more likely to be severe and life-altering. Conditions such as poor weather and road conditions, unsafe vehicles, distracted drivers, and even road rage are all contributing factors in serious Florida motorcycle accidents.

Passenger Injured on Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Stranded

What would you do if you were injured on a cruise ship and found yourself stranded in a foreign country without adequate medical care?

Major news networks reported that a passenger on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in the Mediterranean slipped and fell on board the ship, breaking his hip.  The next port was in Turkey.  The ship's crew called a taxi that transported the passenger and his wife to a local hospital.

The hospital was so dirty that the man's wife worried that he would get an infection if he had to stay there long.

Hotel Guest Injured by Falling Television

A U.S. State Department employee filed a lawsuit against the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club for an injury that occurred in 2011.

The 26 year old employee lives in Connecticut.  While on vacation in Hawaii, she alleges that a television fell off the wall and struck her.   She suffered a herniated disk in her lower back, which might lead to long term consequences for her job.

“She was working out in the newly-remodeled workout facility when she leaned over a fountain to fill up her water bottle,” the injured woman's lawyer said.

Carbon Monoxide Kills Three in Hotel Room

Three deaths over two weeks, all in the same guest room at a Best Western Hotel in Boone, North Carolina, have been attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning.

An elderly couple visiting from Washington State were found dead in the hotel room, and the authorities initially said that they could not determine the cause of death.  Then, two weeks later, an 11-year-old boy died in the same room.  This time, all three deaths were attributed to carbon monoxide.

Carnival Triumph passengers should contact a cruise ship accident lawyer

We have all been following the story of the Carnival Cruise Line ship Triumph, which was stranded in the Gulf of Mexico after a fire damaged the ship's engine.  That passengers have been trapped on board the ship, which has no electricity and few working toilets.

Those of you who have been on cruises know how big these ships are.  Imagine how difficult it has been on the Carnival Triumph for many passengers to move from deck to deck without elevators.

Carbon Monoxide Dangers in Hotels

Most hotels do not have any type of carbon monoxide detectors. This has led directly to serious injuries and deaths across the country due to this invisible, odorless gas.  If you you have been injured in any way in a hotel, motel or resort, you should contact an experienced hotel injury lawyer right away.

The Rising Death Toll
We expect to be safe when staying in a hotel.  However, across the country, more than 170 people have died in their hotel rooms from carbon monoxide poisoning.
